Dr. Žak Ozmo and legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan were the recipients honored at the Soulsville Foundation’s second annual Power of Music Honors, held on April 30, 2026, at Crosstown Theater in Memphis.

Presented by the Soulsville Foundation, the annual event celebrates individuals and organizations whose work demonstrates the power of music beyond performance and its capacity to create meaningful impact in people’s lives and communities.

Dr. Ozmo received the inaugural Power of Music Honor in the Health & Wellness category, recognizing his pioneering work at the intersection of music, neuroscience, and health. As Founder and Director of the Ozmo Institute for Neuroaesthetics, his work explores how music and sound influence the brain and how this knowledge can be translated into approaches that support healing, resilience, and human well-being.

Also honored was Wu-Tang Clan, the internationally influential New York hip-hop group whose cultural impact has extended far beyond music.

The 2026 Power of Music Honors brought together artists, innovators, and community leaders in Memphis to celebrate music not simply as an art form, but as a powerful force for health, connection, culture, and social impact.
